Why this works
The quickest way to explain the benefit of Base is to examine how an astronaut floats in zero gravity.
The hips are open and the legs are extended. This position creates the least stress in your muscular and skeletal system. It’s also how you naturally float in water. It’s what the body naturally wants to do.
If you sit in a normal Aeron and try to sit in this posture with you feet on the floor, your feet "shear" against the floor surface as you try to lean back and keep the chair stable in relation to your work surface.
When you sit in Aeron+Base, your feet can naturally press into Base to offer the perfect balancing force to the recline mechanism.
